Can I find out traffic information on my competitors?

Yes, but the information you gather will never be accurate unless you have access to your competitor's log files or analytical tool. Free tools like alexa.com, marketleap.com, Comscore.com and google.com/trends will give you a competitive advantage at taking an estimates look at what your competitor's traffic and link saturation.

All the tools listed above are very powerful tools that give you a better understanding of where your competitors are as well as what sites you would want to link back to yours. One example of this would be that Alexa gives you information on pages that are relevant to yours. This type of information can help you prioritize in your link building efforts with who you would want to negotiation with.
